Returning to the topic of Jesus a Christ vs Jesus the Christ, we must ask the question: do we even need Jesus Christ? And if so, why? Why can we not merely “work out [our] own salvation with fear and trembling” (Philippians 2:12)?

Joseph Smith and Paul (as well as all true prophets and messengers) will only give the milk (the milk is teaching people how to receive the meat), but the meat is only given directly by God.
There is not one sin that God can’t forgive, and if we truly desire to repent and change our hearts, then God will cleanse us, no matter what we have done in the past.
As we read the above scripture from Isaiah, we head God tell us that He dwells with those who have a humble and contrite spirit. But, what does it mean to have a contrite spirit?
Sometimes We justify our dislike for others by saying things like ” but they’re sport-stars (they play for the opposite team etc)” or “they’re celebrities, I don’t know them personally so…” The fact is that when we start to justify our displeasure for others, we are beginning to loose sight of the Celestial love of Christ, that we should all be aiming to have in our hearts at all times.
This is a famous scripture in Brighamite Mormonism within the Latter Day Saint movement. I was always taught growing up that this referred to the of God the Father once being a human man. Jesus some how saw the Father live His mortal life, and was doing the same. This never fully made sense to me, as I was also taught that Jesus was created as a spirit baby after the Father’s mortality, and for a number of other reasons. Speaking to a friend this week I was enlightened to a new way of understanding this scripture and in turn all scriptures.
At this time, a great plague is moving across the land and the governments of every nation, kindred, tongue and people are in turmoil and confusion. At this time, we must remember what we have learned from the Gospel.
