Having received the prompting to organize the school of the prophets, the First Elder is expected to contact those who already have a mission and motivation of the Holy Spirit to teach or present something desirable for the School, asking them to present the material in a format appropriate for his vision of the School. We recommend the creation of a document outlining the requirements for the School that may also serve as a contributor guideline, and a companion cover letter may be used as a standard invitation to submit content. See Appendix G.
APPENDIX G
Consider the School of the Prophets in a role similar to the Teaching Company. They approach the best teachers in their field to teach one class for the Teaching Company. Those teachers work full time at their respective universities, and have their own series of books, seminars, and related material. The classes for the Teaching Company additionally constitute an advertisement of sorts for those teachers, directing Teaching Company students to their other works if they are inclined to seek more content from a particular teacher. This understanding provides potential School of the Prophets contributors incentive to submit content to the School of the Prophets, allowing us to reach contributors from outside the Fellowship. This becomes mutual edification and cross promoting of content by contributors.

The School of the Prophets is a direct requirement given to the First Presidency by the Lord. It is also one of the primary reasons for the existence of the Fellowship of Christ. Please see DoS 3c:Article II 1, Article X; 5d; 7b; 50a; and 125. See also DoS 124:56-57.
